GEOTECHNICAL Investigations are critical to any successful
construction project in two ways. First, it provides the basis on
which appropriate foundation systems can be selected and designed.
Second, it provides road maps and tips to ensure the foundations
are installed in the most cost-efficient manner.
A comprehensive geotechnical investigation must include a review
of local geology, soil conditions, and previous land use, as well
as understanding construction practices, in order to alleviate common
problems that may be encountered with the proposed construction.
The Geotechnical Services we offer are:
- Subsurface data evaluation
- Bearing capacity determination
- Settlement analysis
- Foundation design and construction recommendations
- Earthwork specification preparation
- Earthwork construction monitoring
- Leaching Pool & Drywell
- Subsurface explorations using soil borings, rock coring, and
test pits.
- One-dimensional Consolidation Testing
- Soil Triaxial Testing
- Atterberg Limits
- Hydraulic Conductivity Testing
- Soil Percolation
- Subgrade Evaluation & Verification
FTC incorporates knowledge, experience and advanced technology
into the design team. Review of geologic and soil characteristics
at the site to reduce the amount of additional exploration required.
Field investigations are conducted with a thorough understanding
of the planned and anticipated subsurface conditions.
FTC is fully equipped to test soil samples and rock cores using
the appropriate ASTM test methods. FTC embraces technology as our
means to improve quality and efficiency for our clients. The field
and laboratory data are managed using computerized data management
techniques and are reviewed by the project engineers for accuracy
and completeness. FTC maintains current software to perform engineering
analysis, and working knowledge and innovations in geotechnical
engineering.
